Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche has kindly agreed to give teachings on the 37 practices of Bodhisattvas in the Saga Dawa festival, the festival of Buddha's birth, enlightenment and parinirvana.

For everyone who wishes to attain real happiness and full bliss through the Buddhist religion it's very important to know how these methods are actually practiced and used. There are many different methods for beings with different faculties. The great bodhisattva master Gyalse Thokme Zangpo gave this very useful teaching for beings with three different kinds of faculties about how to practice Buddhadharma and especially Mahayana. This teaching is especially useful for new dharma practitioners.

Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche also gives refuge vows to those having requested. You can also request other vows from Rinpoche, such as five lay vows, bodhichitta vow or a vow of vegetarianism. If you are taking vows, please bring a ceremonial khata scarf to be offered to the Lama.

Review of the Passed Winter

During last fall and winter the Danakosha sangha has gathered it's strength in the maintenance, renovation and construction works of Danakosha Ling in Jokioinen. A varying group of volunteers has spent early fall weekends in gardening, learning the house and turning the engine hall to a gompa. The walls were covered with drywall and paint; electric works, lighting and heating progressed; wooden floor was installed and doorays formed. Apples were harvested and flowers planted for the next spring.

Her Eminence Mindrolling Jetsun Khandro Rinpoche visited Finland in October. Along with her eminence travelled the consort of late His Holiness Mindrolling Trichen Rinpoche, Mindrolling Sangyum Kushog with a retinue of many monks and nuns, including Mindrolling Monastery's current chanting master Tulku Ngawang Jigdral Rinpoche. The venerable guests were greeted by traditional welcoming ceremony in Danakosha's Museokatu premises.

During her stay H.E. Jetsun Khandro Rinpoche gave a precious two day teaching on the union of Mahamudra and Dzogchen. In addition her eminence bestowed upon the blessed participants an empoverment of Green Tara from Chokling Tersar.

In their vast generosity the great consort Mindrolling sangyum Kushog and Mindrolling Jetsun Khandro Rinpoche blessed Danakosha Ling in Jokioinen for the great benefit of all sentient beings, and for spreading and remaining of Buddhadharma all over the world.

After this last event to be held in Museokatu premises all the texts, statues, thangkas, cups, plates etc. were moved to Jokioinen; the only thing remaining as a token of our stay in Museokatu was a white khata welcoming the next tenants.

After moving out from Museokatu, the weekly, Tuesday gomde practices went on in the headquarters of Finnish Theosophical Society at Vironkatu, Helsinki. Tsog practices and Buddha Shakyamuni sadhanas were held at homes of individual practitioners.

Lha Bab Duchen, the festival commemorating Buddha's descent from Tushita heaven, was celebrated in November together with Danakosha's 10th year aniversary. The festivities were held in Jokioinen and were attended by the representatives of several buddhist groups.

In November and December Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche generously gave his students precious teachings on Shantideva's famous Bodhicaryavatara. The series of lectures is to be continued.

For the holiday season the works on the gompa were far enough to admit holding the yearly Konchog chidu drubchod retreat in the new premises. The profound group practice was lead by Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche with the assistance of Lama Gomchen from Mindrolling monastry. The retreat was attended by around 30 participants from Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Poland, Hungary and Spain.

Karma Yoga - Help Needed for Construction Works at Danakosha Ling

Danakosha Dharma Center has gotten a wonderful place in the mid-point of the three major cities in south-western Finland. We emphasize being an authenthic Buddhist center for study and practice, for students from all over the world, and particularly in northern Europe. In northern Europe there are very few Tibetan Buddhist centers. In the new center we will offer summer courses and annual retreats, such as traditional drubchens and many other events.

In order for everything to go smoothly for the participants and organizers, we need to build rooms for accommodation, take care of the environment, and establish symbolic monuments of Buddhism, such as temples, stupas, mani wheels, etc. We need many people to help, particularly those with skills in construction. Our karma yoga program will take place between May 5th 2017 to June 4th 2017, and you can come for any time that is suitable for you. We offer accommodation and food for the voluntary workers. The supervisor of the project will be Jarkko Soihtu.

It would also be of great help if you have extra bathroom or kitchen furniture, which you can donate. We need for example faucets, toilet seats, sinks, an industrial dishwasher, a big fan-assisted oven, industrial hotplates or a gas stove, refridgerators, chest freezers, possibly a soup kitchen, a wood-burning stove, a big paella pan, etc. Suggest freely.

We would be happy to know as soon as you know if you can come to help in the renovations. Please contact us to info@danakosha.fi

Greetings from Danakosha Trust

Danakosha Trust's help to the Bholung village in Nepal was concluded in the end of 2016. During the last fall six new houses damaged in the earthquake were reconstructed in Bholung. The reconstruction of seven other houses will be concluded by February 2017. The villagers have also joined their forces in constructing a road for better transportation of building materials to the village.

Aid in Bholung is continued by eg. Kehitys- ja kulttuuriyhdistys Aurora Borealis ry. You can continue supporting the village through them, or ask them for more information: http://www.auroraborealiskehitys.fi

Our contact person Tula Kandel sends a big thank you for all the help on behalf of the villagers.
