His Holiness Kyabje Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche

While Vidyadhara Jigme Lingpa was staying at Samye Chimpu in the upper cave of Nyangben Tindzin Zangpo, he met in the manner of a vision the one of Samye, the omniscient master of speech, the victorious Longchen Rabjam. He was looking in good shape, wearing the three robes of dharma, and middle aged. Jigme Lingpa saw him without hindrance, like you would see a Buddha. He heard him clearly reciting the following: "May the meaning that must be expressed, my heart-lineage be transferred. May it be transferred. May the words that express be perfected. May they be perfected." At that moment, all his thoughts stopped and he developed irresistible faith and devotion. Holding Longchenpa's hands he placed them on his head and said: "Omniscient King Of Dharma, think of me. Omniscient King Of Dharma, think of me. Omniscient King Of Dharma, think of me." Thus he prayed with such devotion that he almost fainted. Then the Omniscient looked at him with wide open eye and said: "Noble son, by the power of my prayers, the intent of this lineage of the meaning has been transferred. So, practice and teach to the fortunate ones." That was the first meeting, and the body benediction.

Then again, in the lower cave of Nyangben, also called the cave of the greatly secret flower, while staying in very strict retreat, attachment to ordinary appearances dissolved. He then met the Omniscient Lama who gave him a bundle of texts. The Lama said: "This is the clarification of those great chariots which have the style of hidden meaning". Thus he gave his benediction of speech and authorization to compose treatises. That was the second meeting.

A few months later, he met the Omniscient Lama for the third time. He was now looking like a pandita, with a nice and peaceful complexion, extremely juvenile having the body of a young man, wearing the hat of a pandita with long stripes. He was very joyful and smiling. This appearance of pure primordial wisdom dissolved into the dharmata. Thus he gave his heart benediction as well as his permission to become head of this lineage of the realization of the meaning. That was the third meeting.

In this way, he was fully accepted three times by the primordial wisdom body of the Omniscient King Of Dharma Longchen Rabjam. He received the complete benediction of the three secret places, body, speech and mind, and became fully enlightened in the expanse of the intent of the impartial own appearances of the Great Perfection. He started to be known as the great Vidyadhara Jigme Khyentse Ozer (Fearless light of knowledge and love), or as Kunkhyen Jigdrel Lingpa (the Omniscient Lingpa Without Fear). The new path that he then initiated by teaching innumerable disciples, the chariot of this great being with whom it is meaningful to connect is called: Dzogpa Chenpo Longchen Nyingthig. It has been sustained by the disciples of the Omniscient Jigme Lingpa, among which the famous four Ligmes: Jigme Trinle Özer (the first Dodrupchen Rinpoche), Jigme Gyalwe Nyugu (the teacher of Patrul Rinpoche), Jigme Ngotsar Gyatso in Kham, and Jigme Kundröl Namgyal (from Bhutan) and their subsequent disciples, as well as the five emanations of the great Vidyadhara himself: the body emanation, Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, the speech emanation Paltrul Orgyen Jigme Chökyi Wangpo, the heart emanation Do Khyentse Yeshe Dorje, the qualities emanation 4th Dzogchen Rinpoche Mingyur Namkhai Dorje, and the activity emanation Gyalse Shenpen Thaye. These great Masters spread this teaching throughout the whole world. Through this teaching many sentient beings became liberated. There is an unbroken lineage to this present day of Enlightened Beings who have followed this teaching.

This sublime path to the present day pertaining to the class of the uncommon instructions of the Great Perfection has two parts:

• The profound meaning very extensively expounded, the explanation of the main intent of the tantra in an detailed way: the Gyuluk Phurba, being the royal way; and
• The ripening and liberating based on the three root of the Longchen Nyingthig (together with the protectors), the completely perfect category of realization.

Here we will be dealing with the second part, i.e.

• The root of benediction: the Lama Rigdzin Dupa, as well as the Lama Dragpo Ta Khyung Barwa.
• The root of real realization: the Yidam Kabgye Palchen Dupa, as well as its four branches: Shindje Tchipdak Zilnön, Tamdrin Khamsum Rölpa, Yangdak Sangye Nyamdjor, and Phurba Düphung Zilnön, the four classes of blood drinking deities.
• The secret practice of the Great Compassionate One: Dugnal Rangdröl, and its wrathful aspect Tamdrin.
• The upmost secret practice of Ladrup Thigle Gyachen.
• The peaceful and wrathful deities of bardo: Ngensong Djongwa.
• The root of enlightened activity: the Dakini Yumka Dechen Gyalmo, its inner aspect the twenty-one taras, the long life initiation of Tsuktor Namgyalma; and the secret aspect of Sengdongma.
• The head of the family: Öpame.
• Finally, the protecting deity Ekadzati with retinue: Kasang Magön Chamdral; and the protector Tseringma.

Those very precious transmissions have been transmitted up to our root teacher, His Holiness Kyabje Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche through an unbroken and very direct lineage without any alteration. We are extremely lucky to be able to receive those initiations from such a qualified master.
