Karma yoga: Construction works at Danakosha Ling
Fri 5th May 2017 - Sun 4th June 2017
at Danakosha Ling, Forssantie 37, Jokioinen, Finland

As you know, Danakosha has gotten a wonderful place in the mid-point of the three major cities in south-western Finland. We emphasize being an authentic Buddhist center for study and practice, for students from all over the world, and particularly for northern Europe. There are very few Tibetan Buddhist centers in northern Europe. In this center we will offer summer courses and annual retreats, such as traditional drubchens and many other events.

In order for everything to go smoothly for the participants and organizers, we need to build rooms for accommodation, take care of the environment, and establish symbolic monuments of Buddhism, such as temples, stupas, mani wheels, etc. We need many people to help, particularly those with skills in construction. Our karma yoga program will take place between May 5th 2017 to June 4th 2017, and you can come for any time that is suitable for you. We offer accommodation and food for the voluntary workers. The supervisor of the project will be Jarkko Soihtu.

It would also be of great help if you have extra bathroom or kitchen furniture, which you can donate. We need for example faucets, toilet seats, sinks, an industrial dishwasher, a big fan-assisted oven, industrial hotplates or a gas stove, refridgerators, chest freezers, possibly a soup kitchen, a wood-burning stove, a big paella pan, etc. Suggest freely.

We would be happy to know as soon as you know if you can come to help in the renovations. Please contact us to info@danakosha.fi

We are very honored to announce that the consort of late His Holiness Mindrolling Trichen Rinpoche, Mindrolling Sangyum Kushog, will visit Danakosha Dharma Center in Finland for the first time with with a retinue of many monks and nuns, including Her Eminence Mindrolling Jetsun Khandro Rinpoche and Mindrolling Monastery's current chanting master Tulku Ngawang Jigdral Rinpoche. Very venerable Mindrolling Sangyum Kushog received numerous teachings from His Holiness Mindrolling Trichen Rinpoche, and she is a great practitioner and mother of Her Eminence Mindrolling Jetsun Khandro Rinpoche. We are very happy that she is able to appear in this country, which for us, is a blessing comparable to having His Holiness Mindrolling Trichen Rinpoche visit here himself. His Holiness Mindrolling Trichen Rinpoche is the root teacher of Danakosha's spiritual director Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche.

WELCOMING CEREMONY
We would like to invite all of you to the welcoming ceremony of Venerable Mindrolling Sangyum Kushog at Danakosha Dharma Center, Museokatu 17 A, Helsinki, on Friday October 14th at 5 pm.

Historically Danakosha is the birthplace of Garab Dorje and Padmasambhava. The great Dzogchen master Garab Dorje taught the Dzogchen teachings in this world in this fortunate kalpa. Garab Dorje's great disciples Shri Singha and Padmasambhava attained realization of Great Perfection equal to Garab Dorje. The teachings of those great masters have been held and spread all over the world by innumerable dakinis of both Oddiyana and Tibet, and the lineage remains to this day.

BLESSING OF DANAKOSHA LING IN JOKIOINEN
Now to our great joy and auspiciousness the great consort Mindrolling Sangyum Kushog has agreed to bless Danakosha's new place, Danakosha Ling, in Jokioinen, for the benefit of sentient beings, and for spreading and remaining of Buddhadharma all over the world.

Fri 26th December 2014 - Thu 1st January 2015
at Danakosha Dharma Center

Danakosha Finland has a great joy to announce that Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche will lead a Konchok Chidu drubchod retreat in Finland from December 26th 2014 to January 1st 2015. Drubchod is an especially powerful group retreat, and its purpose is to pacify all abstacles, obscurations and sicknesses, increase virtues, accumulate merit, and increase prosperity for all sentient beings and particularly our own surroundings. It is important to do positive actions when the year changes. If you have had a great year, it's a result of your own virtuous actions and a blessing of the three jewels and three roots, so we thank them for their kindness, and wish that the next year will be equally auspicious. If the year has been difficult, we wish the difficulties end, and new good things happen in the next year.

The great treasure master Jatson Nyingpo

The great treasure master Jatson Nyingpo

This is Danakosha's yearly winter drubchod retreat. It's a very important event and we wish that there will be many participants, and that particularly all members of Danakosha's sangha participate.

Konchok Chidu means the "Embodiment of the Precious Ones." It is a Guru Rinpoche practice which encompasses all the Three Roots - outer peaceful Padmasambhava as the Guru, inner wrathful Padmasambhava as the Yidam, and secret Padmasambhava in the form of Simhamukha as the Dakini, as well as a long life form of Padmasambhava. The terma was discovered by the terton Jatson Nyingpo, a reincarnation of Nyongben Tingzin Zangpo, a close student of Padmasambhava, who attained the rainbow body. Konchog Chidu is a very profound and wide cycle of teachings, and it is one of the highest and most secret way of accomplishing Padmasambhava's mind.

You can read more about Konchog Chidu here.

Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche is the spiritual director of the Danakosha Dharma Center, and he is the first Tibetan Buddhist lama to reside permanently in Finland by the request of his disciples. He has received teachings from the most prominent Buddhist teachers of our time, such as Kyabje Mindrolling Trichen Rinpoche and Kyabje Tsetrul Rinpoche. He has graduated from Mindrolling Monastery's college as a certified holder of sutric and tantric teachings.

Saga Dawa festival
Fri 13th - Sun 15th June 2014
at Rangjung Ösel retreat centre, southern Finland

Danakosha has the great joy to announce that Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche has very kindly agreed to give a teaching on chöd practice and bestow an empowerment on Yumka Dechen Gyalmo from June 13th to 15th 2014, in connection with Saga Dawa festival, the festival of Buddha's birth, enlightenment and parinirvana. The teaching focuses on the meaning of chöd. The teaching is given at Rangjung Ösel retreat centre in southern Finland.

Chöd refers to cutting through the grasping at a self and its attendant emotional afflictions. It's most famous as a teaching on trancedent generosity by transforming the aggregates into an offering for deities and for demons as a compassionate act of self-sacrifice. Chöd aims to free the mind from all fear and to arouse realization of its true nature, primordially clear bliss and emptiness. It is a powerful tool for healing all kinds of ailments, both physical and mental.

The chöd practice was originally taught by the yogini Machig Labdron. She was and is both a dakini and a deity, an emanation of Yeshe Tsogyal and Yum Chenmo, or Prajnaparamita, the embodiment of the wisdom of the buddhas. Historically, this Tibetan woman, a contemporary of Milarepa, was an adept and outstanding teacher, a mother, and a founder of a unique transmission lineage.

In the Longchen Nyingthik tradition the practice of chöd does not require empowerment, only oral transmission. However, as a gesture of kindness Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche will offer the empowerment of the Longchen Nyingthik dakini Yumka Dechen Gyalmo as a powerful support to the students who have requested to learn the chöd practice.

Schedule:
Fri 13.6. at 9-18: Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche gives refuge vows for those having requested. Teaching on chöd
Sat 14.6. at 9-18: Teaching on chöd
Sun 15.6. at 9-18: Empowerment: Yumka Dechen Gyalmo

The teachings are open for Buddhists.

We serve a breakfast, lunch and dinner, 5 euros each. Please let us know in your registration whether you participate in the meals.

Accommodation: ask Huija (huija@outlook.com) for accommodation indoors, or you can camp in your own tent, or book a cheap room in Kestikievari Kopparnäs (0400 701159).

Recommended offering to the Lama: 120 € / 100 € (members, students, unemployed)

We organize carpools. Please let us know if you need a ride or can provide one, and where you depart from.

Please register by June 6th.

Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche gives a teaching on Seven point mind training
Fri 21st - Sun 23rd March 2014
at Danakosha Dharma Center

Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche has very kindly agreed to give a teaching on Jigme Lingpa's commentary on Vimalamitra's pith instructions "Seven Point Mind Training". This teaching continues the teachings given on fall 2013.

Jigme Lingpa says that through this teaching you can practice all nine yanas on the same cushion. It displays the key points of all the yanas, as well as how to follow the teacher. Therefore this teaching is very suitable for everyone from beginners to those with high realization. This teaching focuses on methods of meditation.

Jigme Lingpa's short biography

Jigme Lingpa is one of the most important figures in the Nyingma lineage. He was born in 1729 or 1730 in the Yarlung Valley of Tibet. At the age of six he entered the Pelri Osel Tekchenling monastery. Although he first had little interest in monastic pursuits, things changed at the age of thirteen, when Jigme Lingpa began his training in earnest, studying key Nyingma scriptures, treasure cycles and Indian Buddhist classics and received several important transmissions.

At the age of twenty-eight Jigme Lingpa entered a three-year retreat, where he experienced a vision where a wisdom dakini bestowed on him the Longchen Nyingthig treasure cycle. He kept the treasure secret until having a series of visions of Longchenpa in another three-year retreat. When he emerged from retreat he established a hermitage in Chonggye where he ultimately began to transmit the Longchen Nyingthig.

Jigme Lingpa also later oversaw the printing of his edition of the Nyingma Gyubum, a compilation of all Nyingma tantra, in twenty-eight volumes.
